IPSCO Announces Price Increase

Regina, Saskatchewan, 10 May 2001, IPSCO (NYSE/TSE:IPS) today announced that it’s U.S. operating subsidiaries are increasing prices for plate steel products. Effective for all orders scheduled for shipment on or after 1 July 2001 the price for steel plate sold to US customers will be increased by $20.00 per ton. This increase covers all IPSCO sales of plate 72 inches and wider and 3/16 inches and thicker in discrete, cut to length and coil form.

This follows an increase in the price of plate sold in the major Canadian markets of $30.00 Cdn. per ton effective 1 June 2001 which was announced on 26 April 2001.
